The World is Saved The World is Saved

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars August 24, 2011

Totally epic!

Though I love how some people are bashing this because they say the guy is a loser. It's ridiculous! One person even complained about how video games are useless because that 'hero' feeling you get is because someone else wrote it for you and "you're just riding a rail that somebody else has cooked up". I hope they also think that books and movies are just as useless, because they're EXACTLY what they just described. Somebody else wrote them up to entertain you, so that you ride along a rail with those as well! With video games, you at least get to interact with the Storyline, and depending on if the game has it, you CAN change the ending, as some games have multiple endings, or branching storylines.

And other people are calling him a shut in loser because he stayed up all night to finish that game. While 4 or 5 in the morning is a bit extreme (I've never stayed up that late myself), it's supposed to signify that he spent extra time just to finish it through the end. I'm quite sure that almost all gamers who have played for a while have spent at least SOME extra time with a game during the story mode, perhaps staying up an hour or so because you're so caught up in it.

The song is very well done, though it could have rhymed a little more, I suppose. That's my only problem with it.
Animation was fantastic, the style was extremely fitting for what it was about.
9/10 5/5 for you, and I'll probably be buying the song off of the iTunes store.

Bronies Bronies

Rated 4 / 5 stars August 7, 2011

I can take a joke...

I'll admit it, I'm a brony myself, and while I haven't gone as far as shopping for the toys, I do enjoy the show.

Now, as for the flash itself, I wasn't exactly sure what the beginning part with the parents was there for, save for the 'Go pick out your toy' bit, and the timing for the jokes just felt very off to me. It was pretty decent humor, I gave a good laugh at the 'authentic voices' bit, but the mauling of the girl felt like it went a bit too far. Maybe it would have sat better if it were just one of them just cleaning her clock with a single punch and taking the toy after that, I don't know, just that it was a bit shocking, but that's just my opinion. That, and it's all about gen 5, definitely not gen 3. I doubt there are very many bronies that give much attention to any of the earlier generations.

Other than that, it was well made, voices were pretty well done, humor was pretty decent, and a good ol' ribbing to a swiftly growing community that is a more than a bit misunderstood. 8/10 and 4/5 to you good sirs!

|~Snow Snow For Lucy~| |~Snow Snow For Lucy~|

Rated 3 / 5 stars January 6, 2010

Very good, but...

It could use some work. Don't get me wrong, it was great, and I loved it, and I'm sure that it took forever to do something of this size, but it still feels very rushed, and I felt like I was constantly being left behind with the storyline progression.

If you have the time, you should definitely try to resubmit this with the story fleshed out more. But don't make it all one giant movie, turn it into episodes. That way you can get MUCH more time and story into it and it won't feel like you're missing so much. With episodes, instead of just one rushed 20 minute movie, you can get 6 or 7 ten minute episodes, or even more if you need to!

Another thing, You really tend to shy away from the more active parts of the movie, like only showing the top part of Lucy's body when she's taking off her arm for the stunt guy. Whatever your reason or not doing them, be it not knowing how to do it well enough, or just not wanting to bother doing it altogether, It needs to be in there. Doing it in episodes might help as well, as you can spend the time you need on each episode for the difficult active parts. 3/10 for this.

Extend your storyline! Bring in more detail about he characters. It was very hard for me to connect with either of the secondary characters, the inventor or the stunt guy. And Lucy's flashback sequence left me scratching my head. What's going on? Was there some sort of war? If so, why was he with his daughter when her father is in a battle? Was it some sort of home invasion? It just doesn't make sense and it definitely needs to be elaborated on. 6/10 on this.

Emotion and voice. Your art portrays the emotions quite well, I was especially moved (also pretty much the only time) when the inventor hit Lucy and she was cowering on the floor in fear. Just the expressions on his face from sorrow to regret to fear was masterfully done. You could tell that he knew he did wrong when he hit her, and he deeply regretted it. Wonderful work with that. for this you get 10/10.
BUT!!! When emotion was trying to be shown using voice, it just wasn't all the way there. Now, I know I can't expect Hollywood quality from amateur voice actors, but this was just way below average for something on the internet. I know it would be a pain in the but, but you should rerecord the all the voicing if you want to edit it and resubmit. Again, episodes will help with voice timing, as you won't have to worry as much about the words being mouthed are off with what's being said, because something shorter is easier to control. 4/10 here.

Your art. Extraordinary. especially for something drawn on the computer and animated with flash. Needs a bit of work, it's choppy in some places, and the proportions are off in several places, but for an amateur, fantastic! 9/10

Despite all of my criticisms, I loved it. You have a great story, it needs some work to get all the way there, and I have complete confidence in you that you can make it perfect. I look forward to an edited version of this in the future, as will everybody else, so please, PLEASE do it! I believe in you, and your other fans do too!

6/10 stars. 4/5 score.

Ether Of Magic Cards Ether Of Magic Cards

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars May 26, 2010

pretty good, but...

It got very repetitive, fast. Now, it's not that bad of a game, but I was expecting a little bit more in a card-based game. Now, this would make a great game for beginners and younger kids, just looking to get a sample of it. It's pretty solid, but as many others have said, it needs more status cards and the such. Also, weaken the curse card by one point for attack and armor, it's just too strong, cutting them down that much. Gods wrath should also be cut down a little, perhaps by 5 points, to keep it from being too overpowering. Also, there were a few bugs in the game, like sometimes, I'd start a battle, only to have to retreat, because it's given me one less card, and no buttons giving any way to battle, BUT by retreating, and starting the battle over again.
Personally, I liked this game, the graphics were decent, the game system, while it has a few bugs, is pretty well done. It just needs to be polished, and it will make a great younger kids game.

St. Pattack St. Pattack

Very nice and fun!

I liked the game quite a bit, nice and simple, addictive, and still challenging.

And to Jeffandmatthardy2, I don't think anybody is coming to this site for a history lesson, buddy. The game's just supposed to be a parody of the classic story of St. Patrick. Chill out and just enjoy the game for what it is. Voting it down because a little game isn't historically accurate is a pretty lame thing to do. I mean, there's bloody leprechauns and a cloud that kills with rainbows! Of course it's not going to be real to life!

Pokemon - Lavender Town Winds Pokemon - Lavender Town Winds

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars May 24, 2010

very good

I liked it quite a bit, but the four tones in the beginning and all throughout the background are quite annoying after a while and hurt my ears. If you soften them a bit after the initial start some more, or changed out that electronic flute sound for something less harsh, it would be perfect. Other than that, I see nothing wrong with this, keep up the great work! 5/5 9/10

Rated 5 / 5 stars May 23, 2010

great remix

Great work, but I agree with dragonnuds, as his is supposed to be a very sad song. BUT I also agree with his assumption, as it sounds like you were indeed going for a more scary feel to the song.
This would also work wonderfully inside a haunted house, if it were extended even longer.
I love it anyways, so 5/5 10/10

Pokemon Tower Arrangement Pokemon Tower Arrangement

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars May 23, 2010

Not bad

You did very nicely with the piano at the beginning, I loved that, but after that, when it switched over styles, I felt that the melody was maybe a little too quiet, and the harmony was much too loud. The percussion was great, so don't change that in the slightest. What I mostly ended up hearing was the electronic pulses of the harmony blocking out the main music. If you soften that up a bit, this could be REALLY good! 4/5 9/10
